Roger A. Cunnington (1935 - 2017)
Born in 1935 in Gloucester, England, he qualified as a Quantity Surveyor, and after serving two
years in the British Army in the post of Atomic Surveyor, stationed in Belsen, Germany, he came
to Canada at the age of 22 and married Joan in 1961 and are the parents of their son, David.
Roger first worked as a Geophysical Surveyor in the northern interior of Ontario and the Yukon
and began a career in the municipal civil service, holding the positions of Subdivision
Administrator with the City of North York, now Toronto and Development Coordinator at the
Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
Roger left the civil service to take a position as an Executive with a large public real estate
development company, dealing in subdividing land and the related building business. He’s been
involved in numerous real estate joint venture operations across southern Ontario and in Florida,
Texas and Arizona.
Roger's strength is having the balance of point of views that comes from having worked on both
sides of “the development fence”
